Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), honored the independent and public press in the country with a lunch meeting.
The event in which the president honored him was attended by the vice president of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, members of the cabinet, some of the commanders of the various forces of the Republic of Somaliland.
The purpose was for the president to have an open meeting to have information with the country’s press, and to strengthen the working environment of the government and the press.
First of all, members of the various press organizations in the country who spoke there, thanked the president for inviting the country’s press to the meeting, and praised the president for the cooperation and close relationship he and his government have with the press and journalists.
The Minister of Information, Culture and Awareness of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Ahmed Yasin Sheikh Ali Ayaanle, who also spoke there, thanked the country’s media for protecting nationalism and social cohesion, calling on them to continue their efforts and support them. every step taken by the government towards development.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), who spoke to the press he invited today, testified to the efforts of journalists in nation building and directing whoever the community delegates to, and promised to work with the press and ordered the members of his government to give journalists all the information they are entitled to so that they can provide reliable information to the public.
It is the first meeting of its kind between the recently elected President and journalists and organizations representing Somaliland’s media.
