
TRIPOLI, Libya (Horn post) Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Ali, arrived in the Libyan capital on April 9 as part of an official visit aimed at advance diplomatic ties and regional collaboration across Africa.
The Somali delegation was received at Tripoli International Airport by Fathallah Abdel-Latif Al-Zani, Libya’s Minister of State for African Affairs, signaling a commitment from both sides to deepen engagement.
According to officials, the visit is focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Libya, expanding cooperation in key sectors, and promoting coordinated efforts toward peace, stability and economic development on the African continent.
Diplomatic sources indicate that discussions are expected to cover areas such as political cooperation, regional security, migration challenges and economic partnerships, reflecting shared interests between the two nations.
The trip forms part of Somalia’s broader foreign policy agenda to reinforce ties with African partners and play a more active role in regional diplomacy, particularly as countries across the continent seek collaborative approaches to security and development challenges.
