
Somaliland President Announces Senior Civil Service Reshuffle and New Appointments.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) President of the Republic of Somaliland HE Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro has announced a series of senior civil service reshuffles and new appointments affecting key government ministries, according to an official presidential decree.
The changes made under Article 90 of the Somaliland Constitution were based on the officials’ experience, competence and the strategic importance of the ministries in delivering public services and strengthening state institutions.
Under the reshuffle:
Adan Abdillahi Abdalle Noor, formerly Director General of the Ministry of Water Development, has been reassigned as Director General of the Ministry of Communications and Technology.
Abdishakur Ismail Hussein Kahin moves from Director General of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family to Director General of the Ministry of Water Development.
Abdalla Mohamed Yusuf Abdi, previously Director General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, has been appointed Director General of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs.
Khadar Nur Abdi Bubal, former Director General of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs, has been reassigned to lead the Ministry of Defense as Director General.
Mohamed Abdi Hashi Obsiye moved from Director General of the Ministry of Justice to the same role at the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family.
Mahmoud Abdirisaq Abdi Mohamed, previously Director General at the Ministry of Defense, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Justice as Director General.
Sheikh Ayanle Hassan Ahmed has been newly appointed Director General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.
The presidency said the appointments followed consultations and reflected confidence in the officials’ ability to effectively carry out their new responsibilities.
