BERBERA, Somaliland (Horn Post) — The commander of the Republic of Somaliland Coast Guard, Admiral Ahmed Hurre Hariye, held high-level talks with senior officials from EUCAP Somalia on strengthening maritime security cooperation and advancing professional training.

The meeting, held on Wednesday at the Coast Guard’s First Base Headquarters in Berbera, focused on enhancing bilateral collaboration and sustaining capacity-building programs aligned with modern maritime standards and global technological developments.

According to officials, discussions centered on expanding joint initiatives aimed at improving operational readiness, technical expertise and institutional development within the Somaliland Coast Guard.

Both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation and explored frameworks for future engagement, with particular emphasis on upgrading training programs to match evolving international maritime security requirements.
