Hargeisa Mayor and City Council Delegation Receive Warm Welcome in Bristol, UK.

BRISTOL (Horn Post) — The Mayor of Hargeisa, Abdikarim Ahmed Mooge, accompanied by members of the Hargeisa City Council, has received a warm official welcome in the city of Bristol, United Kingdom, following a formal invitation from the Mayor and Chair of Bristol City Council, Tony Dyer.

 

The reception reflects the growing relationship and mutual trust between the Hargeisa Local Government Authority and Bristol City Council, laying the groundwork for strengthened cooperation, knowledge exchange, and city-to-city partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable development and improved public services.

 

During the visit, Mayor Mooge and his delegation held a series of productive meetings with Bristol City Council leadership and key departments, including International Relations, Economic Development, Public Health, and Waste Management. Officials from Bristol shared their experiences, local governance models, and successful practices in enhancing public service delivery.

 

Mayor Mooge also expressed special appreciation to Alderwoman Hibaq Jama, a long-serving member of Bristol City Council for 11 years, who played a significant role in facilitating the visit and supporting the knowledge-sharing and cooperation initiative between the two cities.

 

The visit, including the official reception and sector-specific meetings, marks an initial step toward deepening cooperation between Hargeisa and Bristol. Both sides are expected to continue dialogue and develop practical plans that reflect shared interests and benefit the communities of the two cities.
