Somaliland President Departs for UAE to Attend World Governments Summit in Dubai.
Dubai, UAE (Horn post) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), has departed for the United Arab Emirates on an official working visit, according to a statement issued by the Presidency.
President Abdirahman Irro, who is leading a high-level delegation, is scheduled to participate in the Annual World Governments Summit (WGS), set to take place in Dubai. The global forum brings together leaders and senior officials from more than 130 countries, alongside representatives of international organizations and influential global decision-makers.
The visit carries significant diplomatic weight for Somaliland, as President Irro will represent the nation on a prominent international platform dedicated to global governance, innovation, and future-oriented policymaking. During the summit, the President is expected to deliver a message highlighting Somaliland’s experience in state-building, peacebuilding, democratic governance, and socio-economic development.
According to the Presidency, the address will underscore Somaliland’s role as a stable and constructive actor in the Horn of Africa and its broader engagement with the international community.
While in the UAE, President Irro and his delegation are also expected to hold bilateral meetings with global leaders and senior officials. These discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in key areas including development partnerships, investment, trade, security, and other strategic priorities aligned with Somaliland’s national interests.
