Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Participates in World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos.
Davos, Switzerland (Horn post) Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Jama, has led a government delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, currently taking place in Davos–Klosters from 19 to 23 January, under the theme “The Spirit of Dialogue.”
During the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Jama took part in a high-level panel hosted by the Gavi Vaccine Alliance and Global Citizen, focusing on innovation and health technology as key drivers of sustainable development.
Speaking at the event, Jama said Somalia is prioritizing national ownership of its health development agenda in line with the country’s National Transformation Plan.
“During our participation at the World Economic Forum, I engaged in a dialogue hosted by Gavi and Global Citizen on innovation and health technology,” he said. “In accordance with the National Transformation Plan, the Federal Government of Somalia places strong emphasis on Somalia leading its own health development priorities, with the support of our international partners.”
The Somali delegation continues to hold meetings on the sidelines of WEF 2026, engaging with global partners on development cooperation, health financing, and innovation-led growth.
