Erigavo (Horn Post) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), held an important consultative meeting at his residence this evening with senior religious leaders from across the country. The discussion focused on key national issues including peace, social unity, and the country’s political and diplomatic developments.
During the meeting, the President briefed the religious leaders on the ongoing peace efforts in Erigavo, the government’s diplomatic engagements toward international recognition, and the outcomes of his recent official visits to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia.
President Cirro noted that his recent foreign visits had yielded positive results, strengthening Somaliland’s political, trade, and strategic partnerships with the respective countries. He underlined the crucial role that religious scholars play in promoting peace, social harmony, moral guidance, and youth enlightenment within the nation.
The President reiterated that his administration views the country’s religious scholars as a pillar of national stability and peaceful coexistence, whose advice and guidance are highly valued in national affairs.
He also called on the scholars to continue their prayers and efforts in supporting the ongoing peace initiatives in Erigavo.
For their part, the religious leaders thanked the President for the invitation and the spirit of consultation, commending his leadership and efforts toward peacebuilding and national unity. They pledged to play an active role in strengthening social cohesion, safeguarding national values, and promoting the moral fabric of Somaliland society.
The meeting concluded in a spirit of mutual respect, understanding, and a shared national purpose, reflecting the close cooperation between the country’s leadership and its religious community in advancing Somaliland’s peace and stability.
