Hargeisa (Hornpost) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Dr. Abdourahman Dahir Adan (Bakal), this morning chaired a meeting at his office focused on the implementation of the “Visa on Arrival Policy.” This policy aims to facilitate easier entry into the country and was previously commissioned by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Abdirahman Cirro), who appointed a Ministerial Task Force to oversee its development.
The meeting was attended by members of the appointed task force, including:
✔️ The Minister of Interior and Security, Hon. Abdale Mohamed Arab
✔️ The Minister of Civil Aviation and Airport Development
✔️ The Minister of Commerce and Tourism
✔️ The Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development
✔️ The Commander of the Immigration and Border Protection Agency
At the conclusion of the meeting, the task force finalized the recommendations for the Visa on Arrival Policy. These recommendations will be submitted to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland. The policy is part of the broader “Unity and Action” agenda led by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi, aiming to ease travel—particularly for the Somaliland diaspora—as well as to boost the economy, trade, and tourism in the country.
