Hargeisa, (Hornpost) October 7, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Taiwan in Hargeisa hosted a ceremony marking the 114th National Day Anniversary of the Republic of Taiwan. The event was attended by the Taiwanese Representative to the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Allen Chenhwa Lou, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somaliland, Hon. Abdirahman Dahir Adan (Bakal), as well as ministers, directors general, and other senior government officials.
In his remarks, Minister Abdirahman Dahir Adan praised the remarkable progress achieved by the Republic of Taiwan over the years, particularly in the fields of economy and technology, and extended his best wishes for continued prosperity and development.
The Minister reaffirmed that the Republic of Somaliland and the Republic of Taiwan are two friendly nations bound by deep-rooted ties of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared values, emphasizing that Taiwan remains a reliable and valuable partner for Somaliland.
For his part, Ambassador Allen Chenhwa Lou highlighted Taiwan’s democratic journey and its contributions to global innovation and technology.
He described Taiwan as a symbol of democracy and good governance, noting that the relationship between Taiwan and Somaliland is built on mutual development and practical collaboration across various sectors.
