The meeting focused on reinforcing bilateral relations, particularly in social development, economic cooperation, investment, and humanitarian assistance.
During the discussion, President Cirro warmly welcomed Ambassador Al Nuaimi, expressing appreciation for Qatar’s ongoing assistance to the people of Somaliland, especially during challenging times such as drought emergencies.
“The support and donations from the Qatari government have been crucial for our community,” Cirro stated. “We are grateful for your visit and the continued partnership between our nations.”
The President highlighted various development projects that Qatar has implemented in Somaliland, acknowledging their positive impact on the local population. He urged Qatar to expand its developmental efforts in Somaliland, saying, “We are ready to solidify a robust cooperation across various sectors, including security, infrastructure, water resources, healthcare, and education.”
Ambassador Al Nuaimi reciprocated the gratitude, affirming Qatar’s commitment to ongoing projects in Somaliland. He stated, “Our cooperation will focus on humanitarian initiatives and enhancing essential services that benefit the Somaliland community.”
The Ambassador also noted the potential for establishing developmental and diplomatic offices in Somaliland, a prospect that could further deepen ties.
This meeting comes at a time when Somaliland seeks to strengthen its international relationships and attract investment and support for its developmental agenda.
