Hargeisa (Horn post) The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, on Monday officially opened the 8th National Education Plan Review Conference in Hargeisa. The two-day conference will conduct a thorough review of Somaliland’s National Education Plan and bring together experts, educators, and stakeholders in the country’s education sector.
In his opening remarks, Vice President Aw Abdi emphasized the critical role of education in national development, saying that “if a nation is to be weakened, it starts with its education system.” He highlighted the importance of providing quality education and urged the Ministry of Education to focus on technical and vocational training, encouraging the development of the country’s technical schools.
The conference aims to assess progress, identify gaps, and propose strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of education in Somaliland, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening the sector and equipping the next generation with practical skills and knowledge.
