Borama (Horn Post) Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mohamed Ali Aw Cabdi, has today received a high-level delegation from Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State (DDS), led by the Governor of Faafan Region, during his ongoing official working visit to Borama.
The meeting was held at the Presidential residence in Borama and focused primarily on enhancing cooperation between Awdal Region in Somaliland and Faafan Region in Ethiopia, particularly on cross-border security matters.
According to officials, the visit by the Faafan regional delegation was aimed at strengthening coordination on maintaining peace and stability along the shared border between the two regions, amid the importance of joint efforts to address security challenges affecting border communities.
Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Cabdi welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their visit and their continued cooperation on security issues.
He commended the Faafan regional authorities for their constructive role in fostering stability and collaboration between the two neighboring regions.
The Vice President reaffirmed that the Government of the Republic of Somaliland remains fully committed to working closely with neighboring administrations on matters of security, stability, trade, and the free movement and interaction of communities on both sides of the border.
The meeting underscores ongoing cross-border engagement between Somaliland and Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State, reflecting a shared interest in maintaining peace, strengthening cooperation, and promoting mutual economic and social ties in the border areas.
