Somaliland Ministers Arrive in Addis Ababa Amid Regional Diplomatic Activity

Adiss Ababa (Hornpost) A delegation from the Government of Somaliland, led by Foreign Minister Dr. Abdirahman Dahir Aadan, departed Hargeisa this afternoon and arrived in Addis Ababa in the evening.

According to reliable sources, the delegation includes Presidential Affairs Minister Khadar Hussein Abdi, senior Foreign Ministry advisor Jama Gaabush, and other officials who left Hargeisa shortly before sunset and landed in the Ethiopian capital later in the evening.

The exact purpose of their visit has not yet been confirmed. However, it is reported that Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) has received an official invitation from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

It is widely believed that the ministers currently in Addis Ababa are an advance team preparing for President Cirro’s upcoming visit to Ethiopia, which is expected to take place after he returns from his ongoing trip to the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is also in Addis Ababa, where he held talks earlier today with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on bilateral and regional matters.

The coincidence of both Somali and Somaliland delegations being in the Ethiopian capital at the same time has sparked public speculation about a possible connection between President Hassan Sheikh’s visit and the invitation extended to President Cirro.

However, there has been no official confirmation from any of the parties involved regarding a joint meeting or direct engagement between the two leaders.
