Hargeisa (Horn post) The Ministry of Interior and National Security of the Republic of Somaliland, in collaboration with the Somaliland Police Force, has intensified efforts to maintain security and uphold the rule of law following recent incidents in the Awdal region and complaints raised by local citizens in Hargeisa.
The Ministry, led by Minister Abdalle Mohamed Arab, convened a high-level meeting of the National Committee tasked with investigating and evaluating the recent events in Awdal.
The session brought together senior government officials, members of parliament, political party leaders, and the Secretary of the Committee.
The discussions focused on understanding the causes of disturbances in the region, assessing security risks, and identifying measures to restore stability while ensuring compliance with national law.
Minister Arab emphasized the government’s commitment to thorough and transparent investigation processes. “Our priority is to maintain peace, protect citizens, and ensure that accountability is upheld at every level,” he said. “We will continue to engage all stakeholders, including local leaders and political representatives, to foster cooperation and strengthen trust in our institutions.”
