Somaliland Education Minister Opens Training on Management of Early Childhood Schools.

Hargeisa – (Hornpost) The Minister of Education, Early Childhood Development and Science of the Republic of Somaliland Prof. Ismail Doale Yusuf has officially opened a training program focused on the administration and management of early childhood education centers for school heads from the regions of Awdal, Hawd, Gabiley and Salahley.

The training, which targets principals and senior staff of early childhood schools, aims to strengthen management systems, improve supervision standards, enhance curriculum delivery, and upgrade the overall services provided by early childhood institutions. The program places particular emphasis on school leadership skills and the use of internationally recognized development and early learning frameworks.

The initiative also seeks to reinforce effective teaching methods and support informed decision-making within early childhood schools.

The program was formally launched by the Minister of Education, Early Childhood Development and Science, Prof. Ismail Doale Yusuf. Remarks were also delivered by the Head of Alight in Somaliland, Ahmed Abdi Wacays, and the Director of Basic Education, Ahmed Ismail Abdi.

The project is funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and implemented by Alight in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Early Childhood Development and Science, in line with the National Education Strategic Plan.

Prof. Ismail Doale Yusuf, who has recently been leading major reforms in Somaliland’s education sector, previously served as a teacher and professor in schools across the United Kingdom.
