Cairo, (Hornpost)– The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, who is on an official working visit to Egypt, held a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Dr. Annette Weber.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, enhancing security support, and reviewing progress achieved in the areas of politics, economy, and security.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre presented the key achievements of his administration, DanQaran, over the past three years — including securing the capital’s safety, combating Al-Shabaab militants, rebuilding the national army, advancing economic reforms, political stability, and improving public services.
The Prime Minister also highlighted his government’s efforts concerning the AU transition (AUSSOM) and the continued need for international support during this period.
For her part, Dr. Annette Weber commended the tangible progress made by the Somali government in recent years and reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to further strengthening its support for Somalia.
