Netanyahu Outlines Key Objectives of Israel’s Military Campaign Against Iran.

JERUSALEM (Horn post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday outlined the main objectives behind Israel’s military campaign against Iran, stating that one of the goals is to create conditions that could allow the Iranian people to challenge the country’s ruling system.

In a televised address, Netanyahu said the conflict could open the door for political change inside Iran, though he stressed that any internal transformation would ultimately depend on the Iranian public.

“We can create the conditions for regime change, but it is up to the Iranian people to come out into the streets,” Netanyahu said.

Three Main Objectives

The Israeli prime minister said he had added a third objective to the military campaign, alongside two previously stated strategic goals.

According to Netanyahu, the three primary objectives are:

Preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Destroying Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities.

Creating conditions that could enable political change inside Iran.

The comments come amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, which have raised concerns across the Middle East about the potential for a wider regional conflict.

Reference to Iran’s Leadership

Netanyahu also referred to Iran’s leadership, mentioning Mojtaba Khamenei, who has been reported by Iranian state media to have assumed a leading role following the succession of his father, Ali Khamenei.

The Israeli leader claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly before the Iranian population, suggesting that the country’s leadership is under pressure amid the ongoing confrontation.

Warning to Hezbollah

Netanyahu further stated that Israel is acting against both Iran and Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based armed group allied with Tehran.

He warned that Hezbollah would face “serious consequences” for what he described as its aggression against Israel.

The remarks highlight Israel’s broader strategy in the conflict, as regional tensions continue to intensify and international actors closely monitor the situation.
