Riyad (Horn post) A fire has broken out at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh following a blast early Tuesday morning, Reuters reports, citing two sources familiar with the situation.
Eyewitnesses in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, where foreign missions are located, said loud explosions were heard and black smoke was seen rising above the U.S. embassy compound. One source described the fire as minor, but authorities have not yet released an official statement.
The Saudi government media office and the U.S. embassy have not immediately responded to requests for comment. The cause of the blast and fire is still under investigation, and it is not yet clear whether any injuries occurred.
This incident comes amid heightened Middle East tensions involving strikes and counter‑strikes between Iran, the United States, Israel, and other regional actors.
