Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) Members of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland, which includes the Minister of Health Development Dr. Hussain Bashir Hirsi, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development Mrs. Samsam Mohamed Salah, Mr. Abdale Mohamed Arab, the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Somaliland, the Director General of the Ministry of Health Development Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama and various sections of society participated in the launch of the National Blood Transfusion Campaign which started today across the regions and districts of the country to donate blood reserves to save patients who need to be transfused with blood.
All the officials requested the community to actively participate in the two-day campaign of the National Blood Donation.
“We are committed and committed, with God’s help to build a blood storage facility (Blood Bank), it is an honor for me to participate in a blood donation event with members of the Cabinet, the Director General and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health, by fulfilling the promise of the President of Somaliland to establish a national day of blood transfusions, which we have brought forward today in all Somaliland hospitals, blood transfusions are going on, blood is being transfused, the person is doing nothing, the blood is forming”
In a highly organized event held at the Hargeisa General Hospital’s blood storage unit, the authorities first inspected the blood storage unit of the Hargeisa hospital.
“Today is a big day, it is a big day that I can say, and the biggest charity that a person can give is his blood, your blood is something that God has given you and you are paying for the opening of the blood reservoirs. It is the importance of the Ministry of Health in the first hundred days of the ministry’s activities to be implemented, our minister, Dr Hussein, is leading this national mission. I hope that we will help the women to donate their blood, I call on the youth of Somaliland to donate their blood to the blood types of people who are small like blood –B –A and other types that are small to us to save our people”
Mr. Abdale Mohamed Arab, Minister of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Somaliland praised the Ministry of Health for this campaign to donate blood that it discovered and said “I say it’s a good start, the blood stock is safe for many people in our community, and we as the government, we are very motivated and we give a lot of help to donate more blood”.
Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland was talking about the importance of storing blood in Somaliland’s health centers said “It is a great joy for us as a Ministry of Health Development, today we are to launch and come together here, and the ceremony of the National Blood Transfusion Campaign whose purpose we have is to save our society.”
The National Blood Transfusion Campaign is scheduled for the 25-26th of this month to find blood reserves that can be used in the month of Ramadan if necessary.
