Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi and the delegation he led who were on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, returned to the country this afternoon and was warmly welcomed at the Igal International Airport in the capital of Somaliland in Hargeisa.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Dahir Aden Bakal and the Minister of the Presidency of Somaliland, Mr. Khadar Hussein Abdi, who was one of the government officials who accompanied the President in his delegation, spoke to the media after the reception in the guest room of Igal Airport at the same time, they briefly informed the public about the importance of the trip to the country and the activities of the President’s delegation during their stay in the United Arab Emirates.

“As you all know, on January 26th, Sunday, the President of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi and a delegation led by him left for the United Arab Emirates and received an official welcome and promise. During our stay, we met with the top leaders of the UAE, including the Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Mansoor Bin Sayid AL Nahyan and ministers including the ministers of foreign affairs, economy and work. We held meetings with six government agencies, the largest in the United Arab Emirates. In another department we met with the highest security officials in the United Arab Emirates.”

“During the discussion, the delegation led by the President of the Republic of Somaliland and the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, we discussed economic development and investment such as livestock, agriculture and how the United Arab Emirates government should invest in our country’s natural resources such as minerals and fuel.”
“We have relations with the United Arab Emirates. It is the only country that has invested in our country; you know that DP-World is the biggest investment project it has in our country. For this reason, the President went on his first trip to the United Arab Emirates. They are ready to invest in our country in all aspects – natural resources and in terms of development, agriculture and livestock. I also discussed how to find 70% of our young people, jobs.”

“We have had a very good result that is really bringing great progress and action to our country. In general, the trip ended in a very good atmosphere, and we promised that the relationship will continue quickly, and you will see a series of delegations from the United Arab Emirates coming to our land.”

The Minister of the Presidency of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Khadar Hussein Abdi, who also spoke there, described the working trip of the President’s delegation to the UAE as a successful result of creating cooperation in economic development and investment.
“So the Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke about the trip led by the President to the UAE, it was a trip where we are looking for cooperation so that we can find it and not pray.”
“This country is a rich country, it has a lot of economic resources, livestock, we are the countries with the most animals in the world, it has “Fertile” land to be cultivated, it has gas and oil and many things that need to be invested and today we do not have the economic and technical power.
We have been talking to most of the UAE government and it has been our cooperation in the long term and in the near future, and the UAE government should be part of investing in the various economic zones of our country.”
“We are happy that they have welcomed us very much. Usually, when you want to invest, there is no way to jump. And we hope that a happy investment will come from the United Arab Emirates and many other countries. We strive to create an environment and environment that would accept and welcome that investment.
