MADRID, Spain (Horn post) Florentino Pérez has been re-elected as president of Real Madrid after securing 64.1% of the vote, according to reports from Spain, extending his leadership of one of the world’s most successful football clubs.
Speaking after the election victory, Pérez highlighted the scale of his support across the club’s membership, saying his campaign won support at every voting table and across all generations of supporters.
“This is the second-best result in Real Madrid history,” Pérez said. “And the best result in the club’s history was also mine, in 2004.”
In a major announcement, Pérez confirmed the return of José Mourinho, describing the Portuguese coach as “one of the best managers in the world” and “a true Madridista.”
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey trophy, and a Spanish Super Cup during his tenure.
Pérez also extended an olive branch to club members who did not support his candidacy, pledging to address their concerns and work for the benefit of all supporters.
“To the socios who didn’t vote for me, I will listen to all of you and do everything I can to solve the issues you have,” Pérez said. “We are all Madridistas.”
The election result reinforces Pérez’s influence at Real Madrid as the club prepares for a new era both on and off the pitch.
