Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) The meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland which was chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland Md. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Cirro together with the Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi was held at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Somaliland.
The agenda of today’s Council of Ministers meeting contains important issues for the country and the people.
First of all, the Council listened to a briefing from the Minister of Interior Affairs and National Security who said that the general situation in the country is calm and peaceful.
Also, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development briefed the Assembly on the economic situation of the country, the acceleration of tax collection and the growth of the country’s income.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Development while talking about the implementation of the national revenue unification plan praised the Ministry of Aviation and Airport Development for transferring the various revenues and collecting the revenues it has received since January 1st, 2025.
Also, the Ministry of Aviation has implemented a system that enables the Ministry of Finance to monitor the data of the airport’s revenue services, making the airport’s revenue transparent.
On the other hand, the week before the meeting of the Council of Ministers was as follows:
- The temporary employees of the Ministries and Government Agencies that the President has sent to a Ministerial Committee consisting of six Ministers to find a solution.
- A report on national defense and the plans of the Ministry of Defense presented by the Council to the Minister of Defense and National Defense JSL.
- Information about the laws passed by the previous government and the legislative proposals before the House of Representatives were proposed by the Minister of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs.
- The report of the Ministry of Investment and Industrial Development proposed by the Minister of Investment and Industrial Development regarding the inspection of the country’s industries.
- The report of the Ministry of Health Development and working trips that the Minister went to the regions of the country to observe the needs of health services in the country as a whole, especially the condition of the country’s hospitals.
- The report on the Education situation in the country, the basic needs, the JSL Education Policy and the trips made by the Minister of Education and Science in the Sahil and Togdheer regions.
