Somaliland Presidency Minister Oversees Cabinet Handover, Urges Accountability and Transparency.

HARGEISA, Republic of Somaliland (Horn post) Minister of the Presidency of the Republic of Somaliland Khadar Hussein Abdi on Saturday presided over the formal transfer of duties among several cabinet members recently reshuffled by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, stressing the importance of accountability and transparent governance.

 

Khadar, who chairs the government’s transition committee, supervised the handover of ministerial responsibilities as part of an ongoing administrative restructuring within the government of the Republic of Somaliland. The ceremony included the transfer of duties to newly appointed officials, including the incoming Minister of Information.

“I wish the new minister’s success and hope they will fulfill their duties diligently,” Khadar said, emphasizing that public office is rotational in nature and that every officeholder will eventually hand over responsibilities.

 

Minister Khadar also highlighted the critical role of transition committees in ensuring orderly and transparent transfers of power, noting that their presence serves as a safeguard for accountability and institutional continuity.

 

“It is essential that transition committees witness and oversee these handovers to ensure proper procedures are followed and to strengthen accountability within government institutions,” he added.

 

The handover ceremony forms part of broader efforts by authorities in the Republic of Somaliland to reinforce governance standards and institutional efficiency following recent cabinet changes.
