Boorama (Hornpost.com) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) and a large delegation led by him left for a business trip from Hargeisa to the capital of Awdal Borama region today laid the foundation stone for the main road connecting Borama and Baki, which was one of the president’s promises during the presidential election campaign at the end of 2024.
The president and his delegation participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the beginning of the road connecting Borama and Baki, which the Government UNITY and ACTION will implement at the beginning of its term.
This groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the president, the chairman of the WADDANI Party, the second deputy chairman of the House of Representatives, members of the cabinet, heads of the road development agency, the governor of Awdal region, the mayor of Borama district, the various traditional leaders of the Awdal region and various other guests, and the importance of this road to the whole Awdal region was shown there the president’s efforts to make a visible impact on the performance of economic infrastructure in Awdal as a whole have been widely welcomed.
The governor of Awdal region, Mr. Muhammed Hassan Jama (Hodey) and the mayor of Boorama district, Mr. Mustafe Farah Qabile, who spoke on the occasion, thanked the president for his courage in laying the foundation stone of this important road to fulfill his promise.
Some of the most prominent cultural leaders of Awdal region speaking at event, welcomed with open hearts the progressive step of laying the foundation stone for the road connecting Borama and Baki cities, and clearly said that this step is historic and the president of the country is developing in Awdal region.
The chairman of the road development agency, Mr. Mohamed Farah speaking at event informed about this road and its importance, and noted that the president is committed to the completion of the road.
“We are happy that the President will fulfill his promise before the election, as a ministry we will complete this road as soon as possible”
the Minister of Interior Abdalle Mohamed Arab and the Minister of Information, Mr. Ahmed Yasin Sheikh Ali Ayanle speaking in succession and praised the president for his decision to fulfill his promises during the campaign underlined that today’s laying of stone will add a lot to the economy and development of Awdal region.
The chairman of the WADDANI Party Mr. Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan speaking at event and described it as a success that the government UNITY and ACTION are fulfilling all the promises made by the people who voted for them, and he called on the community to work with the government for development.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) concluded the groundbreaking ceremony, noted that as president is committed to the implementation of everything he promised the people, and indicated that this road will be the key to development In terms of infrastructure, the government he heads will implement in Awdal region.
“The biggest project that his government will implement during its term is planned in Awdal region, as among its promises, that road will increase the production of the region whether it is agricultural or mineral, the most extensive project during the term of the government together and in action will be a project of Awdal region which will be Borama to Lawyacaddo”
President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi and the delegation he leads during their business trip were warmly welcomed in the towns of Dila and outside Borama City, where people dressed in the flag of the Republic of Somaliland.
