Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) The National Conference on Environmental Protection and Combating Climate Change, which lasted for two days in Hargeisa, the capital of the Republic of Somaliland, has come to an end.
The conference organized by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change was about raising awareness and understanding of the Somaliland community in terms of environment and climate.
At of The two-day National Conference, The Ministry Environment and Climate Change of the Republic of Somaliland Abdilahi Jama Osman Geeljire readed the press release of Conference focusing on topics such as the development of renewable energy, the protection of biodiversity and environmental management.
The meeting also analyzed, according to the minister, the way of life of the sea and their protection, the presentation of climate initiatives.

The Minister Geeljire read the press release from this conference and it was as follows.
“The conference calls for the implementation of policies, regulations, procedures, adaptation plans and climate change related to the NDP3 National Development Plan.
The conference recognized the importance of government-private partnerships on renewable energy initiatives and energy-advised technologies to reduce coal consumption in households.
The conference proposes to conduct a study to assess the problems caused by climate change in the environment.
The conference calls for the creation of a National Strategy to save biodiversity.
The conference aims to strengthen the cooperation of international organizations that invest in climate change and encourage green technology, environmentally friendly infrastructure and climate resilience innovations.
The conference proposed the creation of a marine conservation area to save biodiversity and coastal habitats with a focus on coral reefs, trees and fish stocks that are important for food security and livelihoods.
The conference proposes Civil Society Development Intelligence and Information Sharing programs to strengthen their creative ability to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change at the Social level.
The conference calls for the planting of one million trees by the end of 2025, in cooperation with stakeholders in close cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change such as local governments and agencies
The conference proposes to strengthen warning systems and predict the message that affects change and natural disasters.
The conference proposes to establish a special economic fund for environmental protection and dealing with the effects of climate change. This economic fund aims to take effective measures to take care of the environment to strengthen resilience and adaptation to climate change.
