Hargeisa (Hornpost.com) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), held an important meeting at the Presidential Palace with the Directors General of Government Institutions who was recently appointed by the President.
The purpose of this meeting, which was held by the President with the Directors General and was attended by all the appointed Directors General, was to stand on top of and underline the priority activities of the WADA-JIJR Government and ACTION, as the Directors General are a pillar are central to the implementation of the Government’s policy related to the efficient service of the Somaliland community.
The President was accompanied by the Ministers of the Presidency and Religion and Endowments.
President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Cirro who spoke at the meeting explained the responsibility and duties of the Directors General and the necessary role they have in the implementation of the priority activities of the Somaliland National Development, he said: “The Director General is responsible for the implementation of the policies and plans of the WADAJIR Government & ACTION. This shows the burden of your responsibility, it is the key to the success or failure of the government, the implementation of its promises and the achievement of the goals set for it.”
The President has given important directives to the Directors General, and instructed them to make regular checks on the work of their Ministries and Institutions in accordance with the plan, policy and promises made by the current ruling government during the Election Campaign.
“ “The Director must take full responsibility for their work the task assigned to you is not only the daily work of the ministry but one of them is to make sure that the performance and services provided by the Ministry are in accordance with the policy and plan of the Government, In order for the work to be easier, we must adapt to this rapidly changing world, the Director must be a creative person who constantly develops the modern work process.”
Finally, the President noted that he will closely monitor the work of the various Ministers that the Directors are in charge of, and their work will be accountable, and he said: “And I as President will closely monitor the progress of the work every ministry and you will be held accountable for that.”
On the other hand, in the meeting held by the President with the Directors General, the Chairman of the Public Service Agency, the Director General of the Ministry of the Presidency and the Director General of the Ministry of Water Resources Development who is the Chairman of the Directors General made meaningful statements.
