Units of the Somali military that were trained by Turkey were sworn in.
The Prime Minister of Somalia has ordered military forces to complete training.
Mogadishu (Hornpost.com) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, who participated in the swearing-in ceremony of units of the Eagle Commando Force of the Somali National Army, said that they are expected to defend the enemy from the borders of the country in air, land and sea.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the army presented a parade and a guard that reflects the quality and skill of the soldiers, who were prepared to play an important role in the fight to rid the country of the AS groups.
The Prime Minister noted that the equipping of the Eagle army is a sign of the development and improvement of the armed forces, stating that they are expected to take over the security of the country when the African Union Army leaves.
“The Eagle commando is a proud army that is expected to be the backbone of the heroes of the Somali National Army who are fighting the enemy, knowing that you are an honorable army, good behavior and heroes, indeed the Somali people wants you to fulfill the oath you have taken, and serve your people and your country with honor.”
The Prime Minister who congratulated the troops who completed the training thanked the Turkish government for the training they provided to the army which shows the good skills they have been taught, and noted that the Somali government is committed to strengthening the quality, training and equipping of the armed forces, so that have the ability to ensure the security of the country.
The event was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, the Minister of Defense of Somalia and the Commander of the Somali Armed Forces who gave directive to the troops.
